Overview
This tour will take you to one of the earlier capitals of the island, Kizimkazi, where traces of an old Shirazi settlement may be seen in an enclosure surrounded by a wall near the seashore. Near the walled enclosure is the oldest mosque on the island where an inscription records that the mosque was built in A.H. 500 (A.D. 1107) by Sheikh Seyyid Abi Amran, who appears to have been the local ruler. Outside the mosque is a well and the graves of Sharifs ((descendants of the Prophet). You will then proceed to a small fishing village where you will be taken for a boat ride (in a motorized local boat) in search of dolphins with a 85% likelihood of seing them. Lunch will be served at Kizimkazi.
